1. Information We Collect

When you create and use an account, we collect:

• Account details — your phone number, name, date of birth, gender, and the gender(s) you're interested in;
• Profile content — the photos, bio, interests, and city you choose to add;
• Location — city-level or coordinate location, only if you provide it;
• Activity data — likes, passes, matches, and messages you send through the Service;
• Payment data — when you subscribe to Premium, our payment processor Paystack handles your card/mobile-money details directly; we receive only a payment reference and status, never your full card or MoMo number;
• Technical data — basic device and usage information needed to operate the Service securely.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

• Create and secure your account, including sending SMS verification codes;
• Show your profile to other users who match your visibility criteria, and show you potential matches;
• Operate core features such as likes, matches, and messaging;
• Process your Premium subscription and payments;
• Maintain the safety, security, and integrity of the Service, including detecting abuse;
• Communicate with you about your account or the Service.

3. How We Share Information

Your profile (photos, name, age, bio, interests, verification badge) is visible to other users as part of normal use of the Service — that's how a dating app works. Beyond that, we share information only with:

• Paystack, to process subscription payments;
• Africa's Talking (or an equivalent SMS provider), to deliver phone verification codes;
• Our hosting and database providers, solely to operate the Service;
• Law enforcement or regulators, where we are required to do so by law.

We do not sell your personal information to advertisers or other third parties, and we do not share your private messages with other users beyond the conversation they belong to.

4. Data Storage & Security

Your password is stored using industry-standard one-way hashing (bcrypt) — we never store or have access to your plain-text password. Data is stored with reputable hosting/database providers using encrypted connections. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

5. Your Choices & Rights

You can review and update your profile information at any time from your account settings. You may request deletion of your account and associated personal data by contacting us at the email below; we will action deletion requests within a reasonable time, except for records we are legally required to keep (for example, payment records for tax purposes).

6. Data Retention

We retain your information for as long as your account is active, and for a reasonable period after deletion to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.

7. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed at, and may not be used by, anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18; if we learn that we have, we will delete it and terminate the associated account.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted here with a new "Last updated" date.
